Accessible website

vdate is designed to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities.

General

We see accessibility as a core part of the service. Our aim is that every person, including people with disabilities, can browse, sign up, watch videos and contact us independently and comfortably.

Conformance level

The site is built to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines, in line with the European standard EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882).

The service is currently offered in selected European countries.

Accessibility measures on this site

  • Full keyboard navigation, with a clear focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Labels and roles (ARIA) for all buttons, form fields, menus and dialogs, so screen readers announce them correctly.
  • Every form field is tied to a text label, and error messages are announced to screen readers.
  • A logical heading structure (H1–H3) and alternative text for content images.
  • Readable text that adapts to the screen width and can be zoomed in the browser up to 200%.
  • Information is never conveyed by colour alone, every state also has text or an icon.
  • Restrained animation, with no rapid flashing that could trigger sensitivity.

Content that is not yet accessible

  • Videos uploaded by members do not include captions or transcripts.
  • Content created by members (messages, community posts) may not meet every accessibility guideline.

We continue to improve the accessibility of this content, and every report we receive is handled as quickly as we can.
